FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are the huts based?

We’re based near Exeter, in a little village called Kenn, at the bottom of telegraph hill. We are ideally located as a stop gap on your way to or from Cornwall. We are just 0.8 miles from the M5 so super easily accessible via car. And around 5miles from at David’s train station. The two shepherds huts are on plots along the river Kenn. The Airstream is in its own field on the farm (just a short walk from the huts). The best postcode to give you the most accurate location is EX6 7XE.

Are the huts private with their own hot tub?

Our shepherd huts are each set in their own plots and are completely private. Each comes with it’s own proper electric hot tub and fire-pit.

The Airstream is also set in its own private location, has a gorgeous wood fired hot tub, fire pit and outdoor pizza oven.

What is your deposit and cancellation policy?

A 30% booking deposit is payable upon booking, with the remaining balance due no less than 6 weeks prior to the start of the holiday. Full refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of booking if the check-in date is at least 14 days away. 50% refund for cancellations made at least 14 days before check-in. No refunds for cancellations made within 7 days of check-in. However, we strongly recommend you take out holiday cancellation insurance.

What are your arrival and departure times?

The hut will be ready and waiting for you to arrive any time after 3pm – late arrivals are not a problem for us – so if you are coming a little later just let us know and we’ll make sure everything’s ready for your arrival time. On the day of departure we ask that you are all packed up by 10am.

What happens after I have booked?

When you book you will get a confirmation email which will tell you about what to bring, how to get here, nearer to the date you will also get an email confirming the key code to get into your hut or airstream.

How accessible are the huts?

Please note that the Shepherd Huts have 4 steps leading up to the door and the nature of the accommodation means that it may not be fully wheelchair accessible – please call us for further details and we can talk through your access requirements.

Are you dog friendly?

We are happy to take one well behaved dog in the Cherry Blossom Hut.

Can I come on my own?

Of course, we’re all about escaping the busy and our solo travellers enjoy all the luxuries that the shepherd huts have to offer, the retreat-like peace and love that they can be totally secure in the knowledge that we’re around to help if needed.

Do you allow smoking in the Huts?

This is a complete no no. Guests are welcome to smoke in the gardens but we politely ask that you do not smoke in the huts and hot tub. If we find evidence of smoking within the huts we reserve the right to charge and additional cleaning charge.

Do you have EV Charging points?

Currently we do not have EV charging points, but this is something we are certainly considering for the future. We will of course post it on our website and social media accounts as soon as we do. To find the nearest charging station please follow the link zap map.
